This past weekend I had my teenage daughter model some shawls and blankets for me. I think she’s absolutely beautiful inside and out and I tell her so all the time. I want all my daughters to know that they are beautiful and to feel beautiful.
She came home after school one day and told me about her friend that got upset with her after receiving compliments on her looks. My daughter did not understand why that could upset anyone. We discussed that perhaps she doesn’t have anyone at home telling her how beautiful she actually is so when she is told she doesn’t believe that she is. My daughter understood this logic and she told me, “If she doesn’t have anyone to tell her how beautiful she is at home, like I have you, then I will be the one to tell her every day until she believes it too.”
